| Schools Project - Count and Grow | Encouraging Growing | |
|
The Barra and Vatersay Island Produce Show are working together with the Barra schools to promote the ‘Count and Grow’ national potato growing competition.
This project is run by The Royal Highland Education Trust and Clydesdale Bank.
The aim is for the children to plant and grow their own potatoes and then weigh their harvest. The school with the largest harvest of potatoes wins. |
Count and Grow Update
All schools planted their potatoes at the end of February.

Barra and Vatersay Island Produce Show are providing the Barra schools with gardening equipment to encourage them to learn about plants and growing their own food.
As well as tubs and compost each school will be given a sum of money to spend on plants and seeds so they can plan what they want to grow.
Watch this space to find out how they get on. |
